We are thrilled to offer all First Mover Fellows free access to a range of creative, reflective and energizing sessions. Here’s how it works:

You can join as many or as few sessions as you’d like.
If you see a session that interests you, just click the “Add to Calendar” link. This will download a calendar invite which you will have to open to save to your calendar.
Some session require advanced registration. Click “Register” if you want to join those sessions.
All sessions will be held on Zoom. Plan to join us with your camera on.
You are expected to join each session within five minutes of its start time.

We hope you’ll take full advantage of this event. We know how difficult this year has been for all of you... use these two days as an excuse to spend time on yourself!

Workshop: Visual Communication | 9AM – 10:30AM

Clear and compelling visuals go a long way in engaging your audience, communicating your ideas and developing your own thinking. But too many of us hesitate to use visual communication because we’re not sure how to do it well – or worse yet, assume that “we’re just not good at that type of thing”. In this session, we’ll learn a handful of strategies for getting more comfortable and capable at using visuals to capture, share and evolve our ideas.

Self-Care: Romantic Relationships in the Pandemic | 11AM – 12PM

A global pandemic doesn’t exactly scream “romance” – and yet, the relationship we have with our significant other is key to our day-to-day well-being and happiness. In this session, Rahul Raj (2011, Rigabamboo) will facilitate a small group conversation about the struggles – and successes – of keeping romance alive in the pandemic.

Salon: Is Justice Good for Business? | 12:30PM – 1:30PM

Join Jorge Fontanez (2014, The Grasshoppers) in a conversation about the role business leaders play to advance social justice issues. While employee advocacy and public sentiment have pushed CEOs to speak up, corporate statements in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement have come with varying commitments to work on longstanding issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity. One year after George Floyd’s death, civil rights organizations are now holding companies accountable to take action, make good on their promises, and follow through on substantive shifts in policy and power. The question we are left to ponder: Is justice good for business? **Note that registration is required for this session.

Participatory Debate: Corporations Are a Force
for Good in American Democracy | 1:30PM – 2:45PM

The role of corporations in American Democracy is under the spotlight. From political donations to Georgia’s restrictive voting legislation, companies are increasingly called upon to use their voice in the democratic process. But is American democracy best served when corporations take an active role? Join Neal Kemkar (2019, The Gentians) for a unique, engaging, and possibly contentious session in which you are a featured debater.

And yet, the positions they’ve taken on issues of importance often accord with the views of their consumers and employees – and rarely compromise the bottom line. What does this tell us about the future of CEO activism? And will there come a time when CEOs use their voices on the knottiest and most damaging aspects of corporate practice – for example, tax avoidance, CEO pay, and corporate lobbying? As leaders, we are regularly called upon to make decisions without all the information we need. This reality is only getting more difficult as the range of variables and complexities we face seem to multiply by the month. In this workshop, Dr. David Groves, Director, RAND Center for Decision Making Under Uncertainty, will share frameworks and tools for making sound decisions under deep uncertainty.
